The main aim of the «Otandastar» Foundation is to support the Kazakh diaspora abroad and ethnic Kazakhs, who returned to their motherland, has launched. The foundation will cooperate with the World Association of Kazakhs.
The initiative of creating the fund belongs to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan. While speaking at the 5th World Kurultai of Kazakhs, President Nazarbayev noted that necessity of effectively supporting ethnic Kazakhs who are living abroad.
The foundation focuses on cultural, educational initiatives and legal support. Zautbek Turisbekov, the First Deputy Chairman of the World Association of Kazakhs, was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the shareholders meeting. Nurtai Abykayev, a politician, was designated as the president of the «Otandastar» Foundation.
